Linda Blair

Linda Linda LindaAt the age of 5 years old, Linda Blair had to become comfortable in public attention, initially as model for children and later as an actor, after out of 600 applicants she was selected for the part as Regan, the possessed child, as seen in The Exorcist (1973). Linda soon rose to international fame, won the Golden Globe, and seemed poised to get the Academy Award for that role until it became known about the fact that some aspects in the film were not performed by her (the vocals of the demon were dubbed with Mercedes McCambridge, and eight seconds of a stunt dummy were used) this dream fell apart in disappointment, which was probably the initial blow towards what appeared to be the start of a successful career. Over the next few years, she was in a position to get lead roles in a wide range of motion pictures. They included the highly successful television series Born Innocent and Sarah T. Sarah T. Portrait of a Teenage Alcoholic in addition to Exorcist II - The Heretic. When she bought cocaine under peer pressure at age 18 this resulted in the arrest of her and three years probation. Linda was placed on blacklist by Hollywood following the widely-publicized drug bust. The career of Linda was restricted to B movies as well as guest television appearances.
